Compressor issue or neb cups??

Do you have hard water? When our water softener broke, I had to soak the neb cups in vinegar prior to boiling them to get rid of the calcium deposits.

As for the pari proneb ultra II. Don't think the receipt matters. I just happened to find mine, but they can look up the serial number on the bottom of the machine and all of them have a 5 year warranty on them.

Only problem is that you'll have to contact them and mail the machine in to them and then wait a couple weeks for them to send a new one back to you.

Are you anywhere near a medical supply company DME? I know with DS' pulmoaid, I had to have them mail in the compressor for me, but they did indicate they had machines we could rent in the meantime -- 'course that in itself creeped me out as I was concerned with germs/cross contamination and fortunately had a spare. Does your clinic have compressors you could borrow?

Also, I don't necessarily recommend this, because it could void the warranty. But something similar was happening to a previous compressor and DH took it apart and used his air compressor in the garage to blow the dust off of the machine, cleaned it up, used some wd40 to lubricate some parts and put it back together. And it worked for a few more months and then started slowing down, getting louder, so I sent it in for a replacement. It was about two years old.

Yes! I have had that problem too...

I had mine for 6 months to a 1 year before it started slowing down on me. It had air coming out (and seemed waaaay loud) but not nearly enough needed to aerosol the medicine correctly (my assumption) I have a portable machine that I compared the output of air too and the portable was way stronger. I too, checked the filters, still bright white, and still changed it, but nothing worked. I assumed it was just dusty or something inside like Ratatosk said, but didnt have my dad around to do the same thing haha

I called Pari and like the others said, sent it back, then they sent me a new one or replacement one. I dont remember how long it took, but I dont remember it taking very long at all, but I know that I must have used my portable nebulizer till the regular ultra II showed up again.

Good Luck.

I've also had mine go bad after about 10 months. I'm on my second one and its slowly getting louder and louder, so I'm sure its just a matter of weeks/months. Urgh. Not a very reliable product. Next time, I will see if I can substitute or pay the difference on a different PARI model since it truly is a pain to have to send this back and forth and wait weeks for it.

I do want to say that when my compressor was crapping out on me, it was almost a rattling sound that got louder and louder. The treatments themselves never took much longer (that I noticed) and it wasn't a problem with regard to air pressure for mine until all of a sudden it just quit entirely one night.

I have had the problem you speak of though with many a neb cup... Usually its cause I dishwasher them (yuck) and then boil them after every single treatment. For some reason sometimes the dishwasher gets teeny tiny food particles in the cups that I don't even see and even the boiling doesn't dislodge them. In a couple cases, I've had to through them away, but for the most part, a couple really good washings and boilings does the trick. I also stick a pin up in the bottom hole (be careful if you try this) and can sometimes open it up again. I like the suggestion to try soaking them in vinegar though too... GREAT idea!

Another thing I"ve had happen is when I"ve overboiled them, the inside part itself will warp. Usually I can tell this by just hooking up the main cup and air comes out of it, but when I put it together, the air won't budge. That's when I've known I warped that inside piece.

Anyway, just some suggestions. Best of luck. I know its awful when things like this don't work how they should all of a sudden. We're so dependant on them for feeling well!
