Conflicker C April Fools Day Trojan
What will Conflicker C do to a computer?
The worm will find the vulnerability in these systems and spreads through the infected computer by carrying out an embedded code that will pass through one computer to another (RPC request). The group of infected computers is called a botnet, and once the creators of Conflicker C have the botnet in place, Conflicker C will cause havac to all of them.
The Conflicker C worm will then disable or shutdown different Microsoft operations such as Windows Automatic Update, Windows Security Center, Windows defender and Windows Error Reporting. Conflicker C can also attach itself to sychost.exe, explorer.exe and services exe. Conflicker C will connect to a server and can upload information from your computer and install various malware files.
It will launch attacks on various websites and send out though unsolicited emails we all have received at one time or another.
It will reverse computer reset points
Prevent restart in safe mode
Allow access for worms through shareware
Slow your system down
Disable various functions on your computer
Disallow access to security and antivirus websites

Yup, this is exactly what happened to me. I even had Trend virus protection...I now have Norton 360. My antivirus software said it was the Vundo Trojan Horse.
My symptoms at first were that my computer would lock up when I was on the internet and I would have to get out & go back in. Also, I got an alert that my Automatic Windows Updates had been disabled.
One biggie I can tell you is that, like Jason mentioned, I would get these "Warning" notices that said I was at risk & I needed to run this "free" scan to fix my computer. It doesn't matter if you "X" out, hit "No", or whatever, when that pop up appears, the scan (virus) is already attacking your computer. I know this because I got tired of getting that stupid message, so I minimized the little window and was just planning to restart later. Well, my internet locked and I did the Task Manager and it showed an Unresponsive Internet as a active application and it also showed the Virus Scan was running and I hadn't even acknowledged the stupid request yet!
I ruined first a laptop, then a desk top with this stupid virus<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0">
Now I won't download links to emails or hardly anything anymore!
