Confused about EFlow

I met with my doctor yesterday and I asked about the eflow. They said that it was only used with certain medications and that if you got one you had to get your aerosols through the specific company and that this company mixes there own meds. They also said that someone had died using colistin in the eflow, but they werent sure the exact cause of death. Possibly due to smaller particles? I guess it is still unknown if there was any connection. I have read parts of Amy's blog, but I am wondering if it is true about having to get your medicine at a specific place or not?

It is amazing how much misinformation there is out there about the eFlow among medical professionals. You have to get the eFlow itself from a specific provider--there are only 3 in the U.S. and it depends on where you live. Here is a map of the providers based on state: http://www.sourcecf-crd.com/#get

Also, the sourcecf site has more information about the eFlow.

If you order your meds from the company you can lease the eFlow for free. All kinds of meds can be used with the eFlow, antibotic dosages just need to be adjusted.

The issue with the colistin is only with premixed colistin. While the death is being investigated, the providers are only giving non-premixed colistin. Here is the CFF's statement: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cff.org/aboutCFFoundation/NewsEvents/index.cfm?ID=6768&TYPE=1670
