Constant tickle in throat causing constant cough

Does anybody have this problem and hopefully a remedy. I have a very productive cough. I bring up stuff very easily. I exercise daily (swim, bike, resistant training) plus I do nebulized treatments 3 times a day (albuterol, Dnase, atrovent,Cayston). My breathing is ok. 40-50% FEV1. My problem I've developed over the last 4 months is I have a constant tickle that makes me cough constantly. it is not a productive cough, but an irritating cough. It is affecting every part of my life.
I am 51 and live a fairly normal life. I have dealt with CF problems for a long time and so far they haven't knocked me out. (I do IV meds about once a year).
I have been seen by an ENT specialist. (sinuses aren't bad) and a Acid reflux specialist. I do sinus flushes 3 x a day and ENT said sinus drainage doesn't appear to be cause. Acid reflux guy said take antacid which I did for 3 weeks and no change.
Anyone suffering with this and have any remedies (RX, alternative med, acupuncture, hypnosis, anything?). I am desperate. It is affecting my "normal" life by making it almost impossible to go out of the house at all.
I have to take hydrocordone nightly to sleep which I hate doing but it works for night. Helps me sleep.
Appreciate any and all responses.

I feel for you. I have had that same thing and I did find that trying imeprozole over the counter, twice a day, eventually did help. I also did one month of the nasal steroid spray and hard to say if that helped or it was the combination. Could you have allergies to something in your room. Sounds basic but did you vacuum headboards, get pillow covers that zip, etc? Try a hunter or some type of air purifier cuz there could be something bothering you that you dont realize. Do you stop coughing at all when you do go out of the house for a bit?
There is a product called Delsum. It stops annoying coughs/tickle. It works great but ask your doctor cuz with CF we do need to cough so I wonder if it is not good to take too often.
Good luck.

I have seen an ENT and he said that is not the problem. I do sinus rinses 3 X a day to make sure my sinuses are clear.
I also at one time or anothe and in different combinations used Flonase and astelin. currently I am using Flonase 2 X daily.
I also was seen by an allergist and fully tested. I have no allergies.

I know this is an old thread, but I have the exact same problem. I think it is because of the continuous use of inhaled medications over time. I wish there was some way to protect your throat while doing inhaled meds. Did you ever find anything that helped?
