My oldest DD has CFRD. A fwe months ago we were looking at a possible insulin pump. Then she didn't need insulin at all. Now she is back on insulin. Her blood sugars go from 59 up to over 600 in the matter of 2 hours, once she gets Novalog her sugars will drop back down to 300's in an hr. She presents no symptoms of high blood sugar, which tells us she has been having high blood sugars for awhile and her body has just gotten used to them being high. I asked back when we were looking at a pump if there was a system to monitor the blood sugars more acuratly as opposed to the constant finger pokes. The endo doc told me they didn't exist. I have since found out other wise. We have an appt today with the endo doc to find out what we are going to do.

Has anyone with CFRD ever used one?
If so which brand?
Have you found it useful in being able to keep track of the blood sugars easier than the glucometer?
Exspecially when you had to give insulin?
Did you get to a point you no longer needed it?

TIA,
Jen mom to 4 kiddos. 3 w/cf and one lucky red head.
