Yup, Sophie coughs sometimes during and after treatment. Not all the time tho. She does cough more in general when she's on TOBI (she usually doesn't cough much at all), and she also has a hoarse voice starting right in the middle of the TOBI month. You might see it vary as well. Hope the nurse has a positive response for you...

Coughing after doing treatments is supposed to be a good thing. Not all kids do though. My youngest hardly ever has a "productive" cough except when she is sick. She's always had a difficult time even giving sputum for a culture. They used to have to swab her because she just couldn't get it up far enough to get it out. I think at all the hospitals we've been to, the RT always has tried to get the girls to do a few huff coughs when they finish treatment. My oldest on the other hand has never had any trouble giving them what they want, if anything more than they need. I should say, she never HAD any trouble (she's post tx now). Coughing is good.

It means you're doing treatment right!! You're loosening secretions enough that her lungs are trying to move them. Just encourage her to spit anything out and not swallow it or keep it down in her lungs.
