Coughing and Pregnancy

My pregnancy did not effect my cough until about 25 weeks. I am very long torso'ed though. Now I have these horrible coughing fits mostly in the middle of the night. I would say though my cough was increased throughout my pregnancy probably because each cough wasn't as effective with baby taking up room.

Nicole, my oldest daughter developed the cough at about 3 months. I kept taking her to the doctor because I was sure there was something wrong. And they kept saying she was fine. Finally she did it one day for them and it happened right after I coughed. They said she was mimicking me and sure enough I started keeping a closer eye one when I would cough so would she.

Hi Kelly!

Congratulations on the BFP! I'm so happy for you!

I did not cough any more frequently while pg. When I did cough, I tried to squat or sit because if I was standing (or swimming, oddly enough) my round ligaments would pull and hurt like nothing I'd ever felt before. One time I swear I almost passed out. The other times weren't nearly that bad. But that is NORMAL! All the pulling, stretching, cramping, all of that is normal pg stuff. You are creating a life in there. It's hard work and you're going to notice lots of changes in the coming weeks even though you're not showing yet.

I did not do IV antibiotics while pregnant. It did inhale Aztreonam and I took Zithro. That's all I can remember. Oh, and inhaled TOBI as well.

Cough all you need to girl. No amount of coughing is going to hurt that little bean of yours. s/he is very well insulated!
