Just to be safe, I would also suggest he call the doctor today. Some orals (or IVs, but don't tell him<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">) may be necessary. Keep us posted and tell him I'll say a prayer for him.

Thank you everyone for the information, I REALLY appreciate it. I've shared all of this with him and I think he's trying to digest it all right now. He hasn't had any more episodes of just blood since the other night. He does occastionally get blood streaked sputum, but it's very minor in the amount of blood.

We will be keeping an eye on this and I have requested that he please call his doctor. Thank you again, we both really appreciate it!

I've never had a lung bleed, but when I get a nosebleed I take between 400mg and 1000mg of calcium citrate. Calcium is necessary to start the clotting process and given the tendency to develop osteoporosis, I would guess pwcf tend to be deficient. I used to have trouble with my nosebleeds dragging on for days and not fully closing up. The calcium has helped me get them to really stop and not keep leaking.

Good luck with this.

And sorry for the late reply. I just haven't been on here recently.
