You know..you'll know it when you hear it. And sooner or later you will hear it. i really don't get why you think you need to hear someone elses CF cough right NOW. I don't see how hearing it is going to help anything other than satisfy your curiosity. ANd while I don't mind answering questions or expanding on personal experiences that might relate to to others I am not here to satisfy other peoples general "curiosity".

I don't know why I find this a little offensive but I do. So I'm just going to stay out of this thread now. Obviously some people are cool with this so hopefully you will get what you're looking for.

I think she is asking this as a mom being able to differentiate what a CF related cough sounds like, not just freakshow curiosity.

Strangers hear me coughing all the time -- therefore I don't really mind if someone I'll never meet hears me coughing!

But yeah, I couldn't work out how to upload to CFTube. CAN we even upload to CFTube?

I feel ya. I don't feel the same you do but I certainly can see how you feel that way.

What I just don't get is how these parents have missed hearing a CF cough at clinic. Or why they don't just wait 'til next clinic to observe the CF cough (I can usually hear CFers through the walls even if I don't bump into anyone in the waiting room).

Just seems like a much simpler means to the end....

If there are some people willing to post videos, then why does it matter? If you don't want to post, you can just ignore. If no-one ever answered my questions when I was just 'curious', I definitely wouldn't be as informed as I am.

Is there really such a thing as the definitive 'cf cough'? I know my kids are all completely different sounding in their coughs...eg. my son (27, pa) has a tight fairly mucusless type of cough..it varies on whether there's an active infection. My daughter (25, mostly staph) has a moist loose cough most of the time, even without infection. My 10 year old only has a cough when pa is active, and is very moist.
I really think that listening to other cfer's coughs tells you nothing except they have a cough...you wouldnt even know that some people had cf, and would just assume they had a cold or asthma.

Thanks again, Wanderlost for clearing things up. I just was interested in hearing what a CF related cough sounds like, that's all. I actually didn't think it would be this difficult to get people to post them lol.

Also didn't think that people would find it offensive, i mean like littledebbie said. If its not your cup of tea then don't respond to it.
I would like to know what is offensive about it? Can someone answer that for me.
Its definatly not some freakshow curiosity.

As for CF tube, just go to cftube.com i myself don't know how to post clips too. Have to get hubby to have a look and show me.

Amy, when we go to clinic we are only in the waiting room for approx 10mins, the doc's try to keep us separated so its impossible to stumble accorss a cf child for long enough to hear them cough. Also, Olivia goes on the red day's which means no bugs what so ever which means that all the other kids on that day are the same. You also mention a google search, we have tried but cannot exactly find a cf related one. Just thought it woud be a good idea posted on here as its been brought up before and there have been many people intersted in hearing diff types of cf coughs.

As for making it there just to listen to kid scough and not taking Olivia, its kind of hard when we have to drive 2hrs to get there. I just thought posting it here would be a good idea, and whoever wants to participate can.
You don't want to participate you don't have too. Its cool.

I would like to say a BIG thankyou, to those of you considering to do this.
It would be greatly appreciated by many.

Thanks Wuffles, you took the words right out of my mouth.

dasjsmum, that was the point of hearing the different types of cf coughs, realted to whatever infection you have. If you get what i mean. My brain is sizzled trying to respond to everyones replies, i'm probably not making anymore sence.

*sigh* i give up.
