Could rash be TOBI?

Hi there,
Have any of you developed a drug rash from TOBI? My son has broken out in a rash that looks alot like the beginning of the drug rash he had on ceftaz and cefoxitin. The only thing I can think it might be this time is his TOBI, but he has been on it for years without ever having problems. I would appreciate any input!
Thanks!

Can you be more specific when you say rash? Ceftaz and company are beta-lactam (penicillins cephalosporins etc), while TOBI is an aminoglycoside. I'm not aware of any cross-sensitivities, but that doesn't matter if it's not a hypersensitivity rash.

He has a rash on his chest that is starting to spread wider..it is red and just a bit bumpy. He also has a spot on both arms and one leg, but those areas are not as red. They itch. His chest looks very similar to the reaction he had on the cefs. Also, the skin on his hands is starting to peel again, and that only happens when he is on ivs. Thanks for responding, Havoc!

Hmm, if he's not on anything else but TOBI that seems so strange...

Are there any other drugs he is on? Im not sure if steroids can develope rashes or not...

I would shoot an email or phone call off to the cf dr. or nurse and see what they are thinking...

A few times, I have gotten small rashes but only for a night and when I wake up its gone.

Is there anything else different, laundry soap, bath soap etc? Metal allergies and buttons on shirts hitting his chest?
