COURTNEY'S SICK

When my son was still in school our county had a program for child who had chronic disabilities or illness, it was called the 504 plan, they could miss however many days they needed as long as they were passing that course and made up the work to the teachers satifaction they would pass the course, we never had any problems if he had to stay out for any length of time, the school system was great to us and it seemed to take off some pressure on him if he was sick especially during his high school years. I hope she feels better soon and I will keep her in our prayers tonight.

We are back from the doctor's and all went well.

The doc said her breathe sounds were decreased so we went for x-rays. X-rays looked good so she sent us home with Xopenex for her neb and said she needs to neb every 4 hours and told us if she is not better to come back Friday.

Courtney does have a 504 Plan. I went to the nurse and picked up the paperwork for the homeschool program and had the doc fill that out. It is nice to know the homeschool program is there if needed, but I hope we do not need it!!!

Courtney was pretty worried about losing her credits, so she feels much better now knowing that will not happen.

Seana-good for you getting the stuff at school arranged for your daughter! I did not know Ihad CF and had to make up 21 extra days missed one hour at a time after school. I endeed up hating school and feeling 'punished'. It can get very discouragin. Do whatever you can to be an advocate for your daugther and keep this from happenign. Soudns like you already are but just watned to mention how i felt as a child.
