CPMC or Stanford?

Cool, guys. I was just curious about other people in the community in my area (not trying to make a decision about clinics)... I guess I didn't make that clear, sorry. I have already chosen a clinic, California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) and the doctor I am seeing (have been seeing for almost six months) moved there from Stanford a while back and is AMAZING.

Wheezie, what professional field are you on? Are you looking for anything in particular? That's great you're still able to work yet so close to transplant. Hope you're doing well.

I work for the State so want to keep with them for the benefits...trick is it has to be part-time. Actually think I just found one so keep your fingers crossed that I'll do well in the interview I'm not sure how close I am to transplant - I'm at 35% healthy, but every time I get sick I go below the 30% cutoff mark and my doc asks me to "begin thinking about transplant" so I just want to be prepared for that inevitable time when my PFTs don't bounce back up after an exacerbation.

Just out of curiosity, is your doc Henig?

OH MY GOSH!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHOOSE CPMC!!!

SORRY but this is a subject VERY VERY CLOSE to my heart. My daughter had TWO lung tx's at Stanford, and long long stories short, she ended up deciding to continue her care at CPMC where she has gone all her life for her tune ups. Dr. Henig is the MOST awesome doctor, and all the nurses and CF team are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the hospital is VERY VERY clean. Hardwood floors in the rooms, some rooms with Jacuzzi tubs in the bath, just NICE!!! I am sorry, i do appreciate all that Stanford tried to do for Kari, but I was NOT IMPRESSED at all. The docs were all there training then they would POOF disappear, ALL the nurses it seemed were from another country (no offense) but this IS america!!! and the rooms were SMALL and just DEPRESSING. OK I am done now. Sorry as usual for the "rant".

peace.

okay, when I went to Stanford, Dr. Henig was my doc. If she's now at CPMC, I'm seriously going to look into that clinic. It is true, she is AWESOME!! Lisa, do they not do transplants at CPMC? Why did Kari go to Stanford for her tx's? I live in Roseville right now, btw Does Kari currently go to CPMC, even though she lives here? Sorry for the million questions.
