I have crackling a lot but it usually means that there is some mucous in my lungs that needs to be coughed up. Try using the flutter or an acapello to clear out the mucous. They work really great for me! If you don't have one, get one!

An Acapella is similar to the flutter, but slightly larger, and you can use it in any position (unlike the flutter), and it has a dial to adjust it to your needs. I take mine when I go out of town for a short time-like overnight- instead of my vest, and in between vest times if I'm sick. It's great! Your clinic should be able to order it for you <img src=""> .

I use to get that alot, mine was usually caused from mucous plugs or my asthma flaring up. As suggested above anyone of the methods would help. Although the Flutter and Acapella didn't do me a whole lot of good cause I didn't have the pressure behind my lungs to produce the desired effect.

Talk to your Doctor about getting you one of the devices, you will be happy you did. The Quake is another one that works really well and is the one that I am using now.

Cracklin is real common for me to. I find it so annoying i have learned after trying everything else that the whole idea of the laying down drainage positition encourages the craxckles . So I put in my Ipod earplugs and listen to light sleeing music of your favoite kind. I have even turned to meditative type music.

I find it is worth going to bed just a bit earlier so there is time to sit and lie , sit and lie and cough up stuff before finally falling asleep. this gives my lungs time to adjust to the lying down position and of clearing themselves so they will leave me alone. hee hee

oops I also find that doing the flutter just before bed, in bed when the crackles jus won't quit really works for getting rid of them if you aren't too worn out when you go to bed.
