Just thought I'd mention...the allergy test is a blood test. We get our daughter retested every year when she gets her annual CF blood workup. That way, there's no need for an extra needle stick. They just draw some extra blood for the milk allergy test.

Try adding coconut milk or coconut oil to her smoothie instead of the milk. it is very tasty, very healthy and high in calories and fat. I also add flax oil to my boys drinks which is full of omegas and fat. we have our boys on a very high calorie and fat diet and do not use milk, cream or half/half.

blessings,
missa

Thank you all for your suggestions!

My daughter was tested for milk allergies and she doesn't have any, nor did she have any reaction to milk before. So I was just wondering if anyone else had that type of a reaction or if it was just a coincidence.

I gave her some cream in a smoothie this morning and there were no more incidents of heartburn or reflux or whatever it was. I think maybe I introduced back into her diet too fast.

I'll ask her doctor about PPIs this week, just in case she has another bout of this. I'm also going to try the coconut milk and flax oil since she can definitely use more fat -- and omega is a definitely plus.

Thanks again to everyone for letting me know your experiences. It always helps to get another mom's perspective!

I've had that up and down. It kind of felt like a fireball going up and down. It is heartburn, at least for me. Some foods can trigger heartburn or acid reflux, as the case may also be, and dairy can be a trigger. Talk to your doctor about her symptoms and ask if you think an antiacid may be in order. (I took zantac, but recently my acid reflux has gotten so bad that I need prevacid in the morning and zantac at night.)
