Creon cost

With our insurance, until we reach our out of pocket max of $1000, we have to pay 20% of the drug cost. So that first month with Tobi, Pulmozyme and enzymes it's $$$; however, once we reach our out of pocket max of $1,000 for medication, then we pay $15 for a month's supply and $30 for more than a months supply. Without insurance a 3 months supply for ds would be about $5000+

So far BCBS hasn't put pancreaze on there approved list -- Only creon up until a few months ago and more recently Zenpep. We tried to get them to cover Pancreaze being that DS was on Pancrease MTs; however, they wouldn't budge on it.

I have Cigna, so I feel your pain.
We've had terrible trouble with them regarding almost everything! (Creon, Dornase, the friggin hospital, Cayston was a nightmare). to make it worse, the woman who gives the A-ok for my meds/procedures doesn't even have any type of medical degree....

I know we had a really hard time getting my Creon from Cigna. My mom is the one who takes care of that stuff, but she'd turning it over to me slowly. I honestly don't really know how we got it, but it is possible. You have to nag, basically. Though as a child I asked my parents how much my enzymes cost and they said about $100 a bottle, so your numbers seem accurate. I don't know how much we pay for them now.

btw, how large are these bottles you're getting? 1 for only a week? A large bottle may last me month or more...

We just started the co-pay assistance program as well and they cover up to $50/month. We used to pay $30/month so I am guessing they will pay the whole thing.
