Creon vs. Pancrease

My daughter is currently almost 5 months old and we have been having quite a bit of trouble with the enzymes for the last few months. She really gags and sometimes vomits, which sucks because every little bit counts with all of her feeding issues (she takes one before feeding orally, and then another before running the rest of the formula through the g-tube).

I have tried all of the tricks, I also have a 4 year old son with CF, so we've been through it all before. We have tried other baby fruits, watery applesauce, a lot of applesauce, a little applesauce, using a finger, a syringe, dry beads, a spoon, etc.

I'm just wondering if there is much of a difference in the size or shape of the beads in Pancrease. Maybe if it were smaller beads they wouldn't gag her as much.

Ellie takes Pancrease...not sure about the size comparison to Creon. Fortunately, we've always been able to place the beads in her mouth then squirt some liquid down with them (usually her bottle)....

Okay, I just went and opened up one of each. LOL. The pancreacarb is smaller -- the beads are also more uniform and rounder. The creon beads are a bit bigger and more irregular in shape.

I don't know if that will make the difference though.

Have you considered just mixing the pancreacarb with applesauce and shooting it through her g-tube even when she is eating orally?? I hate Alyssa's tube, but when it comes to getting in oral meds that she spits out or makes her gag, its a life saver.

In case I wasn't clear.... we use the pancreacarb for my daughters tube feeds because they are the only kind that don't get stuck in the tube. We use the creon orally. That's why we have both.
