Cruddy Day

Since you mentioned spring break, I assume you are in college? If so, that's not a bad place to meet people. Try to set up a study group (or join one already in existence). Chat with people in the few minutes before class starts, hang out in various places on campus, go to events or lectures sponsored by the school and strike up convos there (you can do this even if you're not a student), or if you're working on a group project ask everyone to go out after class. I've found that it's much easier to get to know people in groups and then if you really connect with one of them, you can build on it from there.

Another idea, whether you're a student or not, is to think of some things you're interested in doing and go volunteer - if you like animals for example, see if you can help out at an animal hospital or shelter. Find out what you enjoy and then go do it - you'll meet people with similar interests and the shared experience will automatically give you something to talk about and a way to connect.

As far as looks go, I know it sounds cliche but when you meet the right person, she won't give a damn if you're thin or look younger than you are. Exercise is an important part of taking care of yourself so it's good that you've recently begun working out, but any girl you'd really want to be with will love you for who you are, cf and all. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
