Crummy cough in the morning and before bed

Hi Anne,

I was wondering if you ever ended up getting those IVs that you were going to get. I have never had experience with a PICC, so I can't help you in that department. Although, that sounds terrible! I would be scared too....and I also consider myself a tough-ass. Sounds like going to radiology is an option, then that way you can be a little more calm about the procedure and you can get the IVs if you really need them. Let us know how it goes.

Get your hiney to radiology for a PICC!!!
This isn't the stoneage-you don't have to have a bedside Picc...I don't know who does that anymore.
I remember the old days of Piccs taking 6 hours, and no pain meds and lots of tears, and lots of collapsed veins...those days are over, Anne. Radiology/Flouroscopy...its over in 15 mins. After each Picc now, I literally want to jump off the table and kiss my surgeon. Its nothing.

My new motto with tune-ups is..don't wait.

If you know you need it, you need it. It sounds like you do.
You would prob get it and then go home and see that it is really ok. You can handle it.
I'm on home ivs now. I did 1 week in the hosp and boy was I kicking and screaming all the way there. (only bc of not wanting to leave my LO)
Each day got a little easier...and a little easier. Now I am home for a few weeks of ivs. Its ok. Actually, the rest of my life is at a standstill and I am just home with the LO (and a few babysitters here and there so I can nap), and its actually pretty peaceful. Almost like a vacation..well lets not exaggerate, but its really ok.

Don't lose your lung function over this, babe. Its not worth losing lung function or quality of life over and picc line and a few weeks of ivs whether in hosp or at home.
Hey-you got 2 kids...you are wonder woman. You can do this little thing.

The funny thing is, Ivs used to be such a big deal to me, but now that I have a kid, Its just like, ok ,whatever. You do what u gotta do.
