Culturing Bacteira

<P>I culture Ralstonia Picketti and it's found:</P>
<P>Bacterial wilts of tomato, pepper, banana, eggplant and Irish potato caused by <I>Ralstonia solanacearum. </I></P>
<P><EM></EM> </P>
<P>I am not lliving in an area where Tomatos, bananas, potato crops are grown nearby. </P>
<P>If there someone on the site with a microbiologist background or maybe you have come across a situation like this before, you might be able to help me out with a Question. </P>
<P>I seem to culture Ralstonia Picketti alot (all was needing IV'S) and when I GOOGLE  the bacteria and saw the food list and I AM a big eater of tomatos, bananas. </P>
<P>Q: WOuld it be adviseable to limiated tomatos, bananas from my diet.????</P>
<P>I eat tomoatos, bananas ALOT and I don't eat potatos just cook them. </P>
<P> Look maybe I am over reacting but I feel there is something in this and I don't see my Consultant for two weeks to ask him. </P>

I don't know about your cultures, bu b. cepacia has been found on rotting onions. I always avoided them, or washed my hands thoroughly after cutting onions at all. Not even for myself but I also have kids. In the grocery store I stay away from any onions that look rotty, or produce thats been near them.
Thats pretty much the extent of my worry. Facts have shown that they put cepacia in soil to destroy other bacterias, it and psuedo are in our water systems, subways, airplanes...So I mainly focus on handwashing and alcohol sanitizer. I've made a habit of doing that almost hourly. I let the rest go. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My view on this is if there is a current outbreak of something on a particular fruit or vegetable, sure avoid it for a little while. But there is bacteria EVERYWHERE!!! So there's really no need to tip-toe around life. That's just me.
