Another CF friend shared this article with me and I ordered a bottle from a well know site that offers pharmacuetical quality supplements. I would like some input on this topic. I would like to hear from those of you who have tried it, what you think and also what you think about the article.

From what I remember, the studies showed that while curcumin is an anti-inflammatory you need to take ungodly amounts of it to do even a marginal amount of good. It was abandoned by the researchers, but that doesn't stop these herbal companies from trying to make a buck.

I can't help you on the supplements, but I can give you ideas for how to eat cumin and turmeric :) I grew up eating a lot of Middle Eastern food because of my mom's Greek background and her Lebanese and Egyptian BFs.

Fresh tomatoes and basil with olive oil drizzle, ground cumin and salt sprinkled all over (fresh French bread too)

Stir-fry crushed garlic, turmeric, coriander, salt, then add pink lentils and water an inch higher--simmer until cooked--serve with rice

Stir-fry cauliflower and/or potatoes with turmeric and whole cumin seeds, salt, fresh ginger.

Add fresh chopped cilantro to the last two dishes.

Try this dip...it is soooo good.

This is a friend's blog, where I've adapted a lot of my cooking from.

Turmeric is the orange powder at the top :)

Christina,

Here is an older thread in which Nightwriter explains her doctor's take on turmeric supplementation.

I remembered last night that she'd taken supplements and written about her experience.
