I know this topic is starting to get old for some people but I really want to know it for those who have been taking it for a while now if you've had any noticeable changes in either digestive or lung function. Dave, I know that you said you have not noticed anything significant and I will be very interested to hear about your PFT's tomorrow!!

But I am very curious because I was taking it for a while and then stopped because I wasn't noticing any difference...but maybe I didn't give it enough time. I want to know if for some you taking it has been worth it. I hate taking more pills than I really need to, and if taking the curcumin is not even worth it, then I don't want to even bother!!

Thanks so much!

There hasn't been a significant change. My breathing test was better than the last one but not a major change. Which numbers would you like?

I have also gained 5 lbs since my last appointment, again not a significant difference.

I am thinking that when my Curumin runs out I might try oral glutathione and see what happens. I have heard that people with poor PFT's should not take Gluta. Is that just for the inhaled or does that also apply to oral?

Hi Dave,
I dont know which it would pertain to about not using the gsh ( glutathione) with poor pft's. I also heard you shouldnt use it if you have b.cepacia or bleeding problems. I wrote to Valerie Hudson ( who started most of the hoopla about gsh) and she told me that theoretically it can be a problem, but that it is only theory at this point. There is no data to be sure it wouldnt be beneficial , so i started using it and took my chances. I would think the "inhaled" would be a problem for those who have hemoptysis problems ( like myself), since i hear it can be very irritating to the lungs. I have only taken it orally and it has helped me a LOT !! Taking it orally , i cant see why that would be a problem for someone with low pft's, My pft's arent the best....................... fev1 is mid 40's and my fvc is high 60's, I also have b.cepacia and hemoptysis problems, and it has helped me a lot. I asked my doctor about it ,before i started using it, and he wasnt against me trying anything that might help, but he warned me not to inhale it, because of my past experiences with hemoptysis. If curcumin hasnt helped you, give the glutathione a try, it may help you a lot. Good luck

I really have to ask. But what do you all mean when you say Fev1 and FVC's? I see it all the time on posts. Forgive me. Eva

Fev1 and FVC are things measured by a PFT (you probably already knew that ) FVC is forced vital capacity. FEV1 is forced expir volume/ 1 sec.
