What bacteria(s) have you cultured?? Are you chronically colonized with any bacteria(s)?

Since my diagnosis 2 1/2 years ago (never had routine sputum tests done before that), I have cultured pseudomonas once (last Oct), and am colonized with stenotrophomonas maltophilia. I have also cultured c. albicans numerous times.

I cultured MRSA when I was 16, and though I haven't had any symptom problems with it since then, whenever I am hospitalized they put me in a contact room because of it. I culture staph a lot, and pseudomonas almost all the time now, because I have 3 or 4 different strains.

I cultured cepacia for awhile when I was 17 and then pseudomonas for years. The past 5 years or so, I have only been culturing staph, which I can't seem to get rid of. I also culture aspergilis (sp?) quite regularly.

Every CFer that I've ever known has cultured pseudomonas, it's a way of life with us. Staph is also pretty common.
I really sorry to say this but we have to get used to alot of strange things. Isolation, IBS, Diabetis. have them all
