Sharon,
I am glad to hear your little one is doing okay...I was wondering did they do the Swine Flu test??? You said on 9-23 was when she got sick and you just got back from the doctor,, and on 9-24,, she had rcovered in 1.5 days but still ran a little fever in the night...
The reason I am asking alot of kids at this time are running temps,,coughing, etc.and it not be the flu...And to get the test results back for Swine Flu would take several days...I just didn't know if you knew that for sure.

And Amy/saveferris2009,,,,
I would like to see you in person tell the family's of the two kids that died from the SWINE FLU ,,that it is all just ,"Hype.Hype.Hype." And the 60 or more kids in the Childrens Hospital in criticle care,,the same!!!!! And I truly ,truly wonder how many CFer's you know that have had the Swine Flu and they are all fine.........

Hope everyone is doing okay ,,,Karla

Karla,
Sophia had a flu test at her pediatrician that showed type A flu. They told me 96% of the flu in Houston is now swine, so we are to assume it was swine. She had a type A flu shot a month ago, so that makes sense that it was the swine. But no, they did not send it off to test for the N1H1 strain. Thanks for praying for both of them!
Sharon, mom of Sophia, 8 and Jack, 6 both with cf, Grant, 8 months no cf

I am so glad that she is doing well. My ds is 7 1/2 and started with the high fever (102.5 oral), but it went away after 1 1/2 days. He seemed to be getting better, but was still tired. He started coughing a few days later, but is was a dry cough so I didn't worry too much about it. He said his neck, elbow and knees hurt, but he had just had his first day of PE at school so I thought it was that. 12 days after he first started the fever, he was going in for his regular CF check-up and he woke up coughing a nasty sounding wet cough (the other cough had been gone for a few days). Needless to say, at his appt his PFTs had dropped from 96 (prior check up) to 70 and his docs said he was really sick. He was admitted to the hospital that day for IV abx. It was very scary. This was our first admission and totally unexpected. The flu test came back negative, but since it was done 13 days after the onset of symptoms, the doc said it wasn't very reliable and they were almost positive he had the H1N1. His younger sister came down with it (positive test) pretty soon after he finished his abx. The good news is that his PFTs made it back up to 98.
