daughters hands and feet are burning/itching only in her sleep?

Primary care doctor has no idea gave cortizone it hurts her due to how bad her skin is getting, Cf doctor thinks put vasoline on it not sure,So today we saw my dermatoligist he thinks it may be a low zinc level but not all signs match, Finally someone is thinking which is good because he also said there is alittle infection and he will treat it topically. When she sleeps her hands and feet feel like they have a bad fever,they itch and it looks like its burning her. Does anyone have any of these symptoms?

When my DD was 2 months old, she developed the same type of rash. At first it seemed like really bad eczema but then it progressed and started peeling, particularly on her extremities. It was horrible. Shortly after this, she was diagnosed with CF and was therefore deficient in just about everything. They said that the low zinc level was more than likely the culprit. Because of the CF, she was admitted but she did receive zinc supplements while there and also at home for about a month afterwards. She hasn't had a problem since. Did the dermatologist order blood work to check her levels?

Especially since it happens at a certain time of day (night) and is limited to her hands and feet. I was curious, so I googled it, and what you describe can also be due to allergy. It can be from somnething she is eating at dinner. Or it can be contact with carpet, her bedding (not feather I hope), fragrant soaps particularly from her bath. Anything new, like a mattress or sofa?

I would take her to an allergist. They generally do skin testing after age 6, but before age 6, they do an elimination diet and see if they can discover the culprit. In the meantime, I would change all her personal products and your detergent to fragrance and chemical free products. I would encase her mattress and pillowcase with allergy protectors.

The reason our DD eventually was diagnosed with CF was because of all things an extremely bad diaper rash. her bottom started to turn really red and peel, I brought her in to our pedi... who immediately sent us to the hospital...turns out she was failure to thrive and unable to get enough nutrients from her breastmilk. She was immediately put on vitamins, but it took over a month for her bottom to completely heal. Have they taken vitamin levels?
