Hello All, I am new to posting on the forum as this is my first post but have learned mass amounts of infromation by your postings and I am greatful to you all. I wanted to give back to all of you for your postings by sending you information as I go through the Denufosol Clinical Trial that I start on September 17th with a diary of sorts.

Here is a quick run down on myself to date:

-CF-DF508
-32 Years Old Male
-Married for 1 Year
-Work Full Time
-Weight 225 Height 6'3
-FEV1 = 84-86% (Got the Flu a year and half back and didn't recover well was 97-100% for my entire life before the Flu)
-Never hospitalized
-IV Antibitotics 1 Time for 3 weeks in April
-Cultures:
-MAC once a few months back but nothing shows now.
-PA before but not in the past few years.
-I am a lucky one with very little negative lung results from CF until the past year. -Due to my weight I take 10-12 Pancrease MT-20 with meals my entire life.

With moving forward I will be updated in detail the Denufosl Clinical Trial and the results and procedure that I go through so you can learn from it and gain information. It is a Double Blind Trial so I might get the Placebo but the procedure will still be there. No matter the drug will be available to participants in 6 months once the trial is complete. This is important as the latest word I have heard that the drug won't be available to the public until at least 2010.

Regards, The Big Lug

That is awesome David. Jaelyn starts Sept 11th. Not a good day for me as my dad died on that day 3 yrs ago. But oh well, cie la vie!!! I will be blogging and keeping track on it as well. It will be great to see how the two of you correlate on the drug. She is on it everyday 3 times a day, first 6 months could be placebo or study drug, last 6 months only study drug. Clinic visits monthly for pft's and 4 hours of blood draws. She is gonna hate me but I hope it helps her and she will thank me in the long run!!!!! I will be keeping up with your diary and good luck on the study!!!

Much Love
Jess

David and Jess, thanks so much for both detailing your trial and just participating! Although Ellie is too young to qualify for most studies, she will hopefully reap the benefits of all of these new drugs down the line, and I am eternally grateful for those of you who are involved in getting new drugs to the market.
