You are not alone. I still suffer from deppresion...
My deppression problems all started as a teen (15), I didn't know I had CF until 21, but deppression issues seem to run rampant on my mothers side. Having CF and other medical problems definately didn't help...
A few suggestions:

Have you tried changing your diet?
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.studentdepression.co.uk/site/index.php?page_id=38">Eating better for your mood</a>

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://ezinearticles.com/?Depression---Change-Your-Eating-Habits-And-You-Might-Feel-Better&id=525280">Eating/vitamins</a>

Here is a website with some alternative suggestions:

most of the time i find that depresssion stems from feelings of helplessness. talking to others helps you learn about yourself. and usually you will learn things about your illness that you didn't before.

all of this works to stifle those feelings of helplessness and makes those bouts of depression manageable. they will not go away entirely, mind you. there will awlays be an element of helplessness in life, even more so with chronic illness, the idea is to understand it and face it, to not allow panic to set in.

reaching out and realizing that you are not alone is a good start, and it sounds like you are having some success with it. i would urge you to continue to try to build relationships with people that you can relate to and learn from.

there is much truth in the adage "knowledge is power". having knowledge abut cf makes it less confusing, less helpless, and less depressing. always strive to increase your knowledge of what ails you.

wishing you well, and reminding you that this is a great place to find support and answers. if there are things that are new to you, or you don't understand fully, there are many here that are willing to help.
