does anybody have diabetes along with their CF? When I go for clinic I have to get tested because they said if your blood sugar isn't right it can affect your lung function...has anybody else been told this???<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

yeah i have cf related diabetes, it effected my lung function for ages and i kept getting infections, it's grand now though. I'm on insulin once a day with my dinner n just have to drink diet drinks and only have chocolate n sweets now and again don't worry bout it sounds scary but it's not at all! Have you got cfrd?

I'm getting tested next week for it. Im going to have to be tested for 3 days straight. I don't think I have it but hopefully they'll give me insulin at night when I take my feeds so I'll start putting on weight. It'll be interesting to see since I only really eat junk food!....

Yeah....I have CFRD, it's not all that bad. The only real changes I have made is...Diet Cokes, Not as much candy and eating only when taking insulin. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> That's about it! It has helped me feel better & be healthier...I'm almost glad I have CFRD because I do eat healthier!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Yes, a lot of us CFers get it. It is called "CFRD" (Cystic Fibrosis related Diabetes). About 75% of us get it before our mid-twenties.
