I'm so confused. DD, age 9, had a hard time breathing last night soon after she finished all of her breathing treatments (albuterol, hypersal 7%, pulmozyme, TOBI, flovent). She just kept taking deep breaths. Then she would run around the house with her brother instead of getting ready for bed, then she'd be fine, then she'd start on the deep breaths again. I asked if she was having a hard time breathing - she just shrugged. I didn't give her any Albuterol because it had been less than 2 hours since she had used it last.
She fell asleep easily. Yes, I checked her several times in the night. She was working to breath at first, but the amount of effort she used reduced steadily as time went on. Now this morning she is better - taking a deep breath only a few times in an hour instead of every other breath.
The clinic nurse says if it happens again that I should give her Albuterol, even if it has been less than 4 hours.
What do you think? Has this happened to your child? What did you do?
