disappointed with CF pharmacy

I had heard such good things about the CF pharmacy and getting drugs right away, so when they told me that my Cayston was being sent was being shipped on Tuesday and would arrive Thursday, I was very happy. Well, it's Friday and my Cayston still hasn't showed up. I probably wouldn't be as disappointed, but because my FEV1 dropped 17%, I really was counting on getting Cayston before the weekend. Also, because I've been coughing so much. Anyway, my CF doc is testing my FEV1 next Thursday, and if it hasn't risen substantially, I'm going to be hospitalized. I'm doing all my other treatments to raise my FEV1, but I really need the Cayston. Anyway, that's my disappointment. Now, I have to wait until Monday, if it arrives then and 3 days probably isn't enough time to raise my FEV1. Does anyone know who the CF pharmacy ships through? Is this typical, or did I just get unlucky?

I am surprised that you did not recieve it when they said. Did they send you an tracking number by e-mail? We were sent one by e-mail for Rachel's Cayston but not for Anna's. I thought it was supposed to be overnighted? Hmmm. Most definantly would call them first thing Monday and ask for that tracking number. Did they also tell you someone had to be there to sign for it? I sure hope you get it tomorrow.

We had similar issues with them when DS got his Tobi thru them as part of the Tobi Foundation. We had to call and place the order and they'd tell us it was being shipped, wouldn't arrive and we'd be told the same story. They LIED! Drove me nuts. And once they never shipped his ADEKs vitamin drops because it wasn't covered by our insurance, so they figured we didn't want it. Hello? Wouldn't have placed the order, had the doctor write a script if we didn't want it.

I heard wonderful things as well, but usually it was from people who dealt with the CF Service pharmacy out of Texas. If we had to call the main number it was a nightmare. We did better if we could just place the order online, but dealing with a phone rep, forget it. We'd complain. We'd leave messages, to no avail. Stopped using them when DS switched to a different vitamin and we no longer were eligible for the tobi foundation.

Fortunately, our local pharmacy's prices are fairly competive.

I use CF pharmacy for some of my meds, including pulmozyme and tobi, etc. Its usually hit or miss for us, sometimes stuff gets here quick in a couple of days, sometimes stuff like enzymes or inhalers etc seem to take longer around a week.

Do they have a pharmacist on call? I had a shipping problem with them and they finally caved in and gave me Saturdady delivery because of their negligence. After a couple bad experiences I called Foundation Care and requested they get the rx from cf services. They took care of it without me having to lift a finger. I'd move your rx if I were you.

we really liked them at first and then had some shipping issues among other things. We switched to Foundation Care and are very pleased.

If I had to deal through the Bethesda office, I'd have switched several years ago. However, about the time I was ready to throw in the hat, they opened the Alabama division. I like dealing with them just fine. The billing still comes out of Bethesda, though, and occasionally it is enough to make me throw in the towel with them.
