The CF specialist only drops by twice a week because the hospital chief mucky-mucks have reduced his status to only "Consulting physician." It's a political thing within the hospital and has a lot to do with how he has to bill his hours.
Bottom line, his patients get the short end of the stick. I'll leave it to your imagination where that stick goes.</end quote></div>
Is there another hopsital he is with where he is more than a "consulting physician"? Maybe you can be admitted here instead.
When I was in with my Peds doctor. I would demand to be taken care by my CF doctor. I did not want some Internal Medicine/Family Phyician taking my case. I didnt know them, they didnt know my situation, and I am not a guinea pig. I havent been in that hospital since going to my adult center, but I will demand the same thing. I would try requesting/demanding your doctor, specially if he is the one who put you in there. Even if he is under consulting status, he still has rights to practice at that hospital. You should be able to request him.
