Its me again. I forgot to ask, why is it important to dry the items?

I mean, if sterilise them and then leave them on the counter to dry don't they just get re contaminated by air born bacteria, dust or germs. Just curious, can anyone answer this for me.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

Thanks in advance<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"></end quote>

Wherever there is moisture, there are germs. Even after you sterilize, bacteria begin to grow wherever there is water.

These bacteria will die once the water is dry <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

so I may sound dumb here...but these items will disinfect AND dry the nebs? is it kind of like boiling the nebs...and is it just water thats used?

and do you guys use it like say three times a day, if thats how often you do nebs?

sorry if this is repetitive, but it seems like a good idea...hmmmm

Hey Mumtokj...thanks for posting the link to the Germ Guardian...I had opened the page and it was up when my husband glanced at the laptop...he looked at it and ordered it on the spot! I'll let you guys know how it works!

If you really want it, I'll bet one of us here could arrange to order it from Target and have it shipped to you. Let us know!</end quote></div>

Your welcome <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have had that link in my favourites for ages since I found it lol.

Please tell us how it works out for you.

The thing I want to know about it is; would it melt or distort non boilable nebs. Because Kj uses both types (boilable and non boilable).

I'm aiming to con my sister into buying it for me with her credit card (fingers crossed) lol. Hopefully they do ship to Australia!

Hi mum2kj, i'm pretty sure they would ship to Aust as it states on the site the germ guardian is not available in any target store, but is available online. So i assume its available online everywhere. hmmmmm, might have to pop into a target store and ask them to find out for you (just a thought).

As for sterilising with the milton, you stated you soak the items for 15min. I think they are supposed to be soaked for a minimum of 1 hour (otherwise they are not sterile).

Also rinsing them in water after sterilising them in the Milton contaminates them all over again. The reason i know all this is because when Olivia was born and we were both realy sick we were trasfered to the royal hosp for women and they have realy strict procedures in steriling baby bottles. It was drilled into me on a daily basis.lol

Just thought i would let you know. Pm me if you have any further questions.</end quote></div>

Eli thanks for saying what the hospital does <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

On the milton bottle it says 15 minutes to 24hrs.

and on their website they say 30 minutes up to 24hrs.

it all gets a bit confusing lol.

I rinse them in boiling water from the microwave as I worry that she would be breathing in the milton stuff and as its made mainly for bottle and baby items. I don't know if it could damage her lungs.

Though I did ring the company up and asked them if it would be toxic to the lungs and they said no and that it would be ok.
