I've heard that some people only do breathing treatments for their children when they are ill. Is this a common thing? We've been doing treatments 2 to 3 times a day every day since our daughter was born, now she's 10 years old. I'm just wondering if this maybe made her more dependent on them?? I have to wonder if all the meds we give her are needed...any thoughts or experience?

Thanks,

Melissa</end quote></div>

No no no no. She is not dependent on them.

You have been doing the right thing - preventative care.

Your compliance over the past 10 years has kept her healthier than she would be if she didn't do treatments.

CF is about prevention. Preventative care preserves lung function.

Just doing meds when you're sick will lead to lung deterioration more quickly.

You're doing the right thing. Keep it up!
