Do I wake a sleeping baby for his nebulizer and CPT?

We were fortunate in that DS fell asleep or was asleep during his CPT and nebulizer treatments. That isn't the case with his vest, though I have strapped it to him in the early morning hours when DH is out of town.

I still for the most part do CPT for the early morning -- he sleeps thru it and he gets an extra hour or so of sleep.

Sarah,

I usually wake Avery up to do her CPT and neb. She will go back to sleep through it. That is just the routine we are in though.

I did do cpt on my children when they were asleep. Most of the time, they would sleep through it. But there is always that rare unplanned occassion that comes along where it just doesn't make sense to do cpt. Just enjoy that freedom occassionally and don't feel bad about it.

You don't have to wake him or skip it entirely. How about just holding the neb near his face while he sleeps? A compromise; he's not getting ALL the medicine, but he's not missing it either. Skipping the CPT in this case, if he's healthy, isn't a bad thing. Sometimes sleep is more important. I found that when Sophie was younger, if she didn't get enough sleep, she'd get sick no matter what we did.
