Do you go into the hospital 3-4 times a year even if your feeling well?

I think it would depend on the person, I haven't been in the
hospital in 16 years (knock on wood) but my pft's are still over
100 and don't usually get infections that drop my pft's very much.
I can usually control them with cipro or keflex.,  I do
need to use Albuterol and Pulmozyme though or I get very tight and
asthamtic.

i don't...but that may change. in the past, i've seen going on IVs as a last resort kind of thing. however, in light on recent conversations highlighting the danish way, i am beginning to see that when i am THAT sick, my lungs are being damaged a lot, and have already gotten damaged before i even start IVs. SO, my new plan is to find a balance. maybe start going in once a year regardless. that is what i was averaging back when i wasn't taking as good of care of myself. now that i am, it is been coming up on two years since i've been on IVs.

i think the best way to see IVs is nothing new to us: know that they are there but try not to depend on them. in other words, do all you can yourself, and then use them to suppliment your treatment.

I have never been in the hospital and honestly I can't see going if I was not sick. I have never been on IVs either, bu-ut, I have been thinking about checking into a more serious antibiotic reginme once my baby is born and/or done nursing, as I just got diagnoised with PA and can feel it being exacerbated right now, so this could change...though I am a horrible patient and I will fight a hospital tune-up at all cost, home IVs don't sound so bad.

I do not go in for tuneups, although lately I've been thinking about it, but at this point I don't think my doctor would be cool with the idea. His way of thinking, is to treat when you're sick, not before.

I only go in to a Tune up when my PFTs start goin the wrong way I have not been in for a tune-up for 1 1/2 year my doc and I look at it in away as long as the PFTs stay the same or go up why put me in for 2 weeks if not nesscary but if they go down a little he saids come back in a month and do the PFT test again and if they are still a little low u need a tuneup. I dont know about u all but I have my days where I feel i can blow and blow on the PFT Test and do good, Then there are other days where I cant blow worth a crap when it comes to PFTs and it shows. I know this sounds bad but I just cant hardly aford to go in for 2 or 3 Tuneups in year.
