Do you have a dry cough or gunky cough

I don't cough much at all unless I get sick. I know I am getting sisck when my cough starts....it starts out very dry and keeps me up at night. Dry for a day or two and then becomes productive. Very predictable.

Mine is like that too. I also do HTS and it helps to keep my cough drier NOW. When I first started HTS, my cough was very loose and gunky for a few weeks. Now it is usually dry unless I am getting sick. Sometimes though after I finish my AM routine (alb, pulmo, hts, vest) I get a tighter cough for a little bit, but then usually the rest of the day I am clear which is always a good thing.

Man, all I do is cough up junk all day long! It's so tiring! You wouldn't believe all the kleenex I go through. Wonder if being in FL and having more moisture in the air contributes to mu mucous being more liquidy? Or maybe it's just b/c my PFT's are around 30% so my condition is worse that some others and producing even more mucous than some of you? I do notice I cough a little less stuff up when I am towards the end of a 2 weeks round of IV's. It's still liquidy but just not as much.

my daughter only cough if he is getting sick, and in some cases when somethng (like smog) make her do it.
and as some above, first is dry and then full of whatever is it.
before she was dx she used to caugh more, not all the time, but more, i think that the daily CPT really helps her.
