do you have clubbing?

I just find the whole clubbing thing kinda weird! I know it means that we don't have enough oxygen in our blood or something like that, and it can be present in other heart/lung/digestive diseases too. But do you have clubbing with your cf? I sort of do. I'm not sure if its bad or not because I've never compared to other clubbed people. But does clubbing mean that your cf is more severe? Because I have it really clearly in both thumbs and it's a little noticable in the pointer fingers, but thats about it, and not on the toes. And my oxygen levels were at about 95-96 through the pulsox (sp?) Any connection, or do you have clubbed fingers?

Kind of strange, but I just realized I've had the clubbing on those fingers and thumbs my whole life, because I remember when I was about 7 and my friends and I were gonna put fake nails on. But they told me I couldn't because my nails were too round. I didn't make any connection back then of course. But then about 2 weeks before I was diagnosed, this kid looked at me writing and said "what's wrong with your thumb?" I had no idea it was clubbing with cf, so I just said I was born with it. Weird! So i've had it forever, but only diagnoesed at 15. Now i'm making all these connections, haha!

Clubbing is associated with pulmonary problems and heart problems, but not necessary lung function or oxygen levels. Doctors really don't know what it is that causes it. I have had severe clubbing my whole life, even when I was in superb health as a child.
