I could see where pulmozyme may be better to use after vest. There are a few problems with this cited trial. Short duration, 2 weeks, and small sample size, only 52 subjects, which the reserchers acknowledged. They also stated "As a finding in a post hoc analysis, the result warrants additional investigation before it could be recommended as a therapeutic directive. " Prehaps there is a nother study that has since looked at this hypothesis or will in the near future.

What about doing pulmozyme with the vest?</end quote></div>

I personally wouldnt do this because I wouldnt get the meds deep enough into my lungs. I dont like doing any nebs while vesting for this reason. It adds time to my overall treatment, but definitely worth it for me.

Thanks Melissa! One of the RT's told us to have Erin do Pulmozyme at the same time as the vest, but I found it is hard for her to concentrate on breathing through her mouth. She asks to do it separately, so we do as she asks. We have another visit soon, so I will bring up the topic <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Thanks again to all of you 'cfers' that help us parents with questions...it really DOES help!!

Thank you for this information. Our girls have been complaining about it being hard to breathe throw their mouth while doing their vest. I will give this information to their Dr. and see if we can change their treatment routine.
