When did you find out your daughter had cf? What were her first symtpoms? I am trying to see if she had any signs when she was younger. Thank you for all your help!

Your daughter's symptoms sound similar to a friend of mine's granddaughter's, who was diagnosed at 18 months. She had RSV, upper respiratory infections, but she didn't have frequent/loose stools -- she had constipation issues. The doctor did a sweat test to "rule out CF" and it was high.

DS on the other hand was born with meconium illeus, bowel obstruction and without digestive enzymes, has very loose, shiny stools. His sweat test was normal -- a 32. His blood tests showed otherwise.

Both of these kids have the same genetic mutation.

Yea most likely. All the sweat test # are in the positive range. Some parents are shocked I was just relieved to finally know what was going on. If you haven't noticed the symptoms good they you can start treating and maybe some will take longer to show. Get a dna test! My sons always had symptoms before my oldest was diagnosed I begged them to test him and they laughed at me so I don't know where to start.
