Do you use a dehumidifier in your home and can you recommend a good one? We are buying an air purifier, and the person who tested our house for mold recommended the Whirlpool Whispur 510 although it is hard to find. Before we invest in a dehumidifier, want to make sure we are getting a good one.

We've got a whirlpool whispersure air purifier. A relative got it for us for DS when he was a baby. As for humidifiers, we don't have one. I'd be concerned with mold.

I think she's interested in a DEhumidifier to help in preventing mold; i.e. in the bathroom if you don't have good ventilation a dehumidifier can help pull excess water out of the air. They sell good ones that are also equipped with HEPA filters.

I'd want to be sure to empty and clean the tank frequently and be sure to keep the intake fan clean. But I do think they can help. We use one in our basement; not even a particularly pricey one (I'd be pickier about which one to use in the house), and it helps (no damp icky smell down there when we use it, and it pulls a gallon of water a day out of the air sometimes!)
