Emily's fingers are awful if she has to wear bandaids. The skin gets thick, white and wrinkled and eventually peels. We constantly change the bandaids when they get wet but it's still hard to keep the skin dry underneath & this really affects her skin. They wrinkle in the tub/pool too.

I have this too, though, and do not have cf. Mine is not to the extreme of being painful as many are here, though. 'You look like a prune' was how my mom got me out of the tub when I was little.

Interesting that this has a name. Never knew that. Also interesting that so many of you also noticed this.

I haven't notice the wine glass thing (I don't normally drink wine) but I will watch for this.

Here is another theory along these lines that you might want to watch for....

Is your computer keyboard dirtier than others? I notice that my desktop computer at work and my phone keypad is filthy but I keep my hands really clean. I suspect that there is something different about the chemical composition of my sweat (like positively charged or negatively charged, not sure of the science behind it all) and it attracts particles of the opposite polarity.

Does anyone else notice this?

I suspect it has something to do with the charge of our sweat (like positively charged or negatively charged) and it attracts particles of the opposite polarity.

I haven't noticed anything on the computer keyboard, but I do notice a buildup around my mouse at times. I can also oxidize metal like nobody's business.

I recently noticed the wrinkled hand thing. After a regular shower, not unusually long my hands were just awful. I don't know why I just started to notice this.
I also constantly wipe my wine glass and switch to a new one if it's too cloudy!

I'm a 47 year old female - diagnosed at 38 - with mild CF
D508 - R117
