Do your other children that don't have Cf help their siblings out with treatments? Kaydan is only 2 1/2years old and loves to help Austin out with his treatments. When he sees me getting his nebs ready he says "Aussies?" and I tell him "Yes and he will go in and hook up the med for him. He loves to put aussies mask on his (austins) face and then he plugs turns it on.

And also whenever we eat he will says "Aussies med" and then he yells for Austin to come take his meds. It is really cute how at that age it is just routine for them. It's part of their life.

Yes, Haliyah is a HUGE help when it comes to her little brother. She makes sure he swallows every enzyme, and is constantly telling him "good job" when taking his oral meds. She also frequently asks to turn on the compressor, roll up the tubing, and is a big help holding Briceton's Nebulizer when a foul mood attacks and he won't hold it himself.

Although her all time favorite is to help during the monthly port flushes. She makes sure mommy has all the supplies ready and is constantly telling him "its okay bubby", "good job", "see its all over"! She has even decided that when she gets bigger, SHE will take over his port flushing..............my little nurse!!!

The funniest "help" moment though, was when Briceton had a dirty diaper and she decided she could change it herself! I was on the phone with the pharmacy and all of a sudden I hear "lay down bubby, I'll change your diaper", by the time I made it upstairs she had already pulled the diaper off and began wiping. Now this wasn't any regular dirty diaper, Briceton suffers from around the clock chronic diarrhea! She had no idea what she was getting herself in to, literally, but bless her heart she is so smitten with him and wants to help out in each and every way!

Isabelle, too, is pretty into helping out. Like Haileigh, she does a lot of "good job!" and other praising. She encourges Emily to eat (and is much more convincing than Mom). She can load a nebulizer, knows where to get the Pulmozyme or HS from...counts down the minutes and the Vest and says, "Almost done Emily. Then we'll play Little People together." She really is a great helper!
