It's true. Go to yahoo and search Cystic Fibrosis under "video". There you will find a story about a girl with CF and a doctor saying that they have found that the problems caused by CF are due to a lack of mucus lining the lungs. He says this "lining" is supposed to fight off infections, but CF'ers dont have it. Check it out if you didn't already know.

I remember an article a while back they were thinking mucus was actually the good stuff in our lungs 'cause that's what fights infection, and the bad stuff was pus. Is that related? Anyway, I'm not sure this is actually gonna affect the treatment of Cf... Maybe in a couple years or so there'll be a new kind of treatment, though. That might be nice.

Yeah I heard this about a year ago. They ran an experiment using the mucus of a group of people some with cf some without. And over all they found that people with cf hadnt ENOUGH mucus. Also they think mucus is rotten pieces of lung tissue coming up. Now don't go quoting me word for word because this is all just what I can remember (in that dusty memory of mine)
