hello everyone!
i was just wondering, does anyone use hypertonic saline and pulmozyme together at the same time? we read a study that the use of the 2 together are beneficial, but i think this is only done in the united states? we live in canada and they're only started doing a study on this and has not been approved. christian just started using hs yesterday, so we don't have any significant results yet.
if anyone has any input or opinion, please write!!
thanks!!

Yes, Andrew is on HTS and pulmozyme, both twice a day. He starts with his HTS, then does his pulmozyme, then therapy, then TOBI if it's an on month.

I personally think he gets much more out of HTS than pulmozyme, but I've heard many others say just the opposite. It really depends on the patient.

Bek is on Hyper-Sal 7%, Pulmozyme, & Mucomyst, in addition to albuterol. We're in the off month for the Tobi right now, but her doc is debating whether or not to keep her off of it. He is basically leaving that up to me and whether I want to keep her on it.

She does albuterol then mucomyst every morning, albuterol then hyper-sal every afternoon, then tobi (when on) then pulmozyme every evening.

Personally, I think the mucomyst helps her the most with bringing stuff up.

Ellie is only on Pulmozyme once daily. Her doctor doesn't want to inflame her airways by introducing HTS at such a young age (she's just a year and a half old). I've read that Pulmozyme use twice daily isn't necessarily more beneficial than once daily...I'm eager to start HTS for AM treatments and Pulmozyme for PM treatments. Still awaiting ISIS results to start her on HTS.
