Does anyone have AFLAC

Do any of you have AFLAC.  There is a Critical Care Plan that will not eleminate you for having CF, but this particular plan will not cover ICU stays.  Would this really be worth paying for?  Doesnt look like it pays for regular or sick stays like Bronchs or IV's.  I was thinking if it wont pay for that stuff, well, anything worse and you would be in ICU...right!?  What do you think?

I have short term disability coverage with Aflac. It covers me for up to 6 months after 7 days have elapsed of missed time from work. It pays roughly $68/day. I got it back in 2007 with the plans to use it for a 6 wk maternity leave which it paid out on a year later and then for the waiting period SSDI requires before they will pay that is 5 months long. They paid out on this in 2009. I have kept the policy because I have heard cf is a disqualifier for this type of policy now and in case I ever go back to work it will be useful to have as a backup.

Without more details, I can't recommend the Critical Care Plan. Would it cover hospitalizations for infections? This is the main reason a cfer is admitted.

Isn't the critical care plan for things like transplants? Last time I checked here in WA, CA and OR CFers were excluded from ALL aflac policies.

Naive question- Isn't this illegal now? To exclude CFers from care plans, I mean.<div>Or do those SOB's keep finding loopholes that still make it legal?</div>

I just purchased the Critical Care plan with my employer (Florida). All I had to do was answer 5 questions (e.g., do you have diabetes, high blood pressure) and if you could answer no to those questions you were eligible. The plan covers 5 specific issues, organ transplants being one of them. For about 15 dollars a pay period, I will receive $25,00, when/if I need a transplant. I can also continue the plan if I leave my employer.
