hi tamara my name is elisabeth i might need a feeding tube too i also have a friend named tamara w/ c.f. who i met on the c.f. website unless you are her but i doubt it any ways back to the feeding tube , right now i am only at the fith percentile(85lbs) and most are at the 50th but i am 4'11" my nutritionist says i should shoot for 90-92 or a feeding tubeis in my near future thanx

My son is a 17 yr old Cf'er. He has had a feeding tube (G-button) for 4 yrs now. He has put on about 63 pounds since it has been placed. He is 5'4" and 143 lbs.. He is now working with his doctor in decreasing the feeds. He started at 7 days a week and is now down to 4 days a week. He gets hooked up to it when he goes to bed and then is done when he gets up in the morning. With the extra weight he is able to fight infections better than before.
He does not where any tight clothing because you could see the button. He wears a shirt when he goes swimming so no one can see it. His very close friends know about it.
He plays street football alot and the g-button does not interfere with his outdoor activities.

Where are you located? I'm trying to get a live discussion going with teenagers who have G-tubes to discuss a new idea. I would love to include your son he sounds like an active person who is not letting something like G-tube interfere with life! Basically I'm working with the makers of the MIC-KEY button and we'd love to get some feedback on a new concept for active teens who use them. We aren't looking to do any type of testing on anyone we're just holding a discussion. There would be a $100 incentive for your son if he wanted to participate.
