Does anyone here write?

Write for fun, like fiction or short stories? Just wondering, wouldn't mind reading some stories.

I wrote a short story, once. It'd get me banned at most child-friendly websites, though. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Other than that, I write extensively on non-fictional subjects (politics, religion, etc.) and am working on several books. None of them will probably ever be published.

Hahaha, heck of a short story. I can tell by reading your site that you have a great talent for writing non-fiction. Keep at it.

I've written four stories, working on my fifth. All of them fantasy, of course. I would suck even worse at realistic ones *lol* I illustrate the characters to help me out with visuals. I've published some of them on deviantART if anyone wants to check it out. Here's my gallery:

As for the stories, I suck so I doubt they'll be published, but it passes the time ^_^;;

Thanks EB24 <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif" border="0"> Though there's one bad thing about publishing your art there... You see how much better everyone else is and it makes you want to cry!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Well I was part of a writing group and I would read others stuff and think, man I am wasting my time. So I kinda know what you mean but you can only get better.

I don't actually write, but I'd like to someday... I'm wondering if anyone has tried to get their stories published in paperback-type format to sell? Is it difficult to do?
Allan, you are a tremendous writer! I think you should try to get your stuff published when you feel better! I'm sure all of the CF community would enjoy reading it (your humor when faced with illness is hard to turn away from). Not only that, but your entries read and flow like a wonderful novel. I can see many many people reading and re-reading your story!

I'm flattered. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Unfortunately, I've significantly toned down my rants since trying to get on UNC's transplant list. Ever more recently, I learned that even the most innocuous comment could be blown way, way to the stratosphere (i.e., someone thought my rhetorical question--"What does Medicaid want me to do, rob a bank?!"--was an actual threat). As a result, I'm basically not writing anything but the most generic, soulless content ever, of which I'm not proud of. My newer blog entries are really put to shame by some of the oldies, before the ridiculous political correctness became well-advised...

I'm a movie freak lately and I have been working on a story since third grade (I'm 19 now). The whole idea is out on my computer but hasn't been put into the actual screenplay yet. I've been reading through some great screenplays for a year now to try to learn the best writing techniques and will continue to do so for a while before I try to put my ideas down for real.

I love to write! Right now I am trying to get a short (well, 20,000 words) story published....historical fiction about some kids trapped in the Alamo.
Also I am trying to start a few other stories....can't seem to get started though...writer's block!!!

I thought I was the only one with the writing idea.
My problem is that I've got about 4 stories started at the same time, I know how I want them to end (The good guy always win in most cases), but making it long enough and interesting enough is the hard part (besides typing as fast as I think without typing errors!)
My main interest is fiction, though my mom suggested I do an autobiography. Autobiographies can take more time--I imagine the writer needs to focus on the message for what they want the reader to catch, and keep them interested in your life as well, agree?

Once I get something within publishing value, I thought I'd research that one next.

Felt the "want" to add to this.
I've only been here a short time, and felt this is a good place for those who may take writing seriously.
Noticing that WinAce (rest his soul) had done some writing, I thought this was one place for him to express and experiment in his writing style and technique.
Since I've also been one to enjoy movies, I hoped one day to write an action story for film, or at least a short story.
But, like the guy who prayed every day to win the lottery but never did win, gotta buy a ticket, too!
