Does it ever end?

I understand how you feel. We've been in the hospital 4 times already this year- once a month... almost like clockwork. Granted my little guy has other complications besides CF with short bowel and a central line, but we've been through one exacerbation of H. Flu., 2 line infections, and a terrible stomach bug so far this year.

I also concur with Harriet that your little girl may need a more extensive dose of abx. The shortest dose of IV antibiotics we have been on is 7 days. And currently we are finishing up a 3 week course to try to kick this H. Flu.

PM me if you ever need to talk.

:-( Sorry. I've been there too. My kid's an incredibly hard stick, so it was a nightmare to get and keep IV sites while he was waiting for a new central line, and it just so happened that the IV sites they could get were places like his foot or the crook of his arm... the worst places for a very active and almost walking 1 yr old.

Seems like they would have found some solution so she could finish the course of IV abx. It is not good for her to be cut short I wouldn't think? Did they try IV anywhere else? They told us the standard on the IV abx was 7 days...that was the shortest we could stay for IVs.

I am in your shoes...Jordin has been constantly sick since birth as well. She is almost 1 year old now! I see it as she spent her first year sick...she is 1 year sick <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">( She knows no dif yet. Poor girls... PM me if you need to talk. Tell me more about your daughter...

Hang in there, hopefully things will look up soon!
