Does stress cause lung function loss?

I have to say stress is a big factor for me. I think over the last three years I have been under a lot of stress and has caused a significant drop in my lung functions. It has been only recently that things in my life seem to be smoothing out but now I am way below of where I was. Can I say stress caused it all...I dont know but I would say it has been a major contributor.

Thanks everyone for your responses!

Eileen,
I am just like you. I am constantly worrying about how my family is coping while I am hospitalized. The hardest thing is that my husband's busiest season at work is summer. I feel like I use up my friends trying to maintain daycare for my children. I wish my doctor was more inclined to do outpatient PICCs, but I live in a town whose hospital doesn't do PICCs, so my doc always seems to want to keep me for about 5-7 days.

Now, I have the additional stress, too. My son and I were victims/witnesses of assault. Since then, he has been having a lot of behavior/anger issues at school. And the trial doesn't even begin until June. Also, my son has been supeoned to testify.

Anyway, I have not checked into the hospital yet, but will be checking in today. I am going to try to convince the doctor that I can get all tests done at my hospital and have antibiotics expressed to me if dosing needs changed. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I would agree about the stress levels and how it would affect Tiffanys health. We also found that it as not only the stress but how she resopineded to the stress or the circumstances in life could either add to the stress and sickness or could make it manageable if properly responded to. We worked hard at responding and not reacting to life circumstances. easy to talk about but sometimes really hard to do.

Yes it does... Stress.... I also notice that the more stressful things are the more
sugar lows I have.. .. I think it also lowers potassium , feels like it does me..

Stress can of course raise blood pressure and hi PB seems to throw everything out of
whack..
