does the vest work for you?

Emily has the vest (HilRom 105), the acapella, and we've done CPT. Granted, she is just a little kid and doesn't have yrs of experience to know which method will work best for her, but so far we are seeing better results with the vest. At this point, it's the best as far as compliance goes (position doesn't matter like it does with CPT- which was our biggest issue there, and the acapella is hard for her to do correctly when she is tired.) She does cough a lot while using the vest. Hers runs in 4min increments from 14hz down to 10hz, twice a day.

Having the acapella was great when we went away a couple weeks ago though... so much easier to travel with! I'm glad we have it as a 'backup' kind of therapy. No matter what therapy kids use, at the clinic we go to they also want all parents to know how to do CPT properly too.

I didn't like the vest, it didn't work for me, and I was allergic to something in the material. I did used it for a couple of years at the doctors request and it just didn't seem to do anything for me at all.

I got a percussor (ran by an air compressor) a few years before the transplants and I loved it. It is also what they used on me in the hospital. It cost about $600 and the insurance wouldn't pay for it. It was a good investment though.
