Does this Sound Like CF?

I wanted to let everyone know that today was our Appt with the Pulmo for my daughter. They did the Sweat Test. They did it on both arms (not sure if that is a normal thing or not). They said that she didnt sweat on one arm, but the other arm tested at 10. We were told that it put her in the negative range, and that CF is not on the top of their list right now for a diagnosis.

My daughter has been in the hospital 3 times in the last year. She has asthma. We brought copies of all her chest xrays shes had in the past year. 6 in total. The Pulmo (we were at Childrens in Boston) looked at all her xrays and told us that she seems to have a chronic atelectasis issue. We were told that she was getting repeat infections, but the Pulmo is now saying that is not the case. (thats a plus). The pulmo is also suggesting that my daughter may have GERD. I am completely and totally shocked by this, as she has NO symptoms of GERD. She is 7 and we have not once had any issues with this or had her show any symptoms or complain about any of this. Her pulmo put her on Reflux Meds..and says that if it reduces her Asthma/Lung Issues then that will let us know that she definately has GERD that is aggravating her lung issues. They also increased her Pulmicort dosage. I will also be learning how to do CPT..they want her to have it down once a day, and up it to twice a day when she gets ill. I have never heard of CPT being done for a child who just has Asthma. I was told that her Atelectasis is happening due to mucous plugs clogging up her inflamed airways and then her lung collapses.

I know she does not have a dx of CF but was wondering if anyone here was familiar with Atelectasis or anyone who can give me tips on the CPT...

I wanted to update everyone on the Appt we had today with the Pulmo. They did a sweat test on both arms. One arm didnt sweat enough and the other arm tested at 10. Her Pulmo said that is in the negative range and right now he is not concerned about her having CF.

We were told that she may have GERD. (reflux) I am completely shocked by this, as she has no symptoms at all. But he says that it is common to have Asthma and GERD and that the GERD could aggravate the Asthma. He looked at all her Chest Xrays shes had in the past year and told us she did not have pneumonia like were have been told. SHe has a chronic issue with Atelectasis (lung collapse). We were given a Med for Reflux, Higher dosage of Pulmicort and I will be having someone come to our home to teach me how to do CPT. They want her to have it done once a day, and up it to twice a day when she gets sick.

I am a bit confused by all of this and just not sure what to think.

Hoping maybe someone here is familiar with atelectasis or someone who can give me any tips on CPT (manual)
